GUIDING PRINCIPLE FOR SUBMISSION of ABSTRACT and PAPER

The call is for all contributions into the scope of the different selected areas viz.

  • Buffalo ecology, climate, welfare and sustainability
  • Buffalo breeding and reproduction
  • Buffalo feeding and nutrition
  • Buffalo genomics and biotechnology
  • Buffalo health and adaptability
  • Buffalo processing industry: meat, milk and their products
  • Buffalo management, economy and sociology

Works in areas not listed above are also welcome. Data presented must be novel. It must not under consideration for publication somewhere else, nor presented at any national or international meetings before the 11th Asian Buffalo Congress 2024 (ABC 2024). For poster/oral category, the authors first need to submit the abstract of the corresponding work. Then the technical committee lists selected submissions for oral presentation. Submission selected for oral presentation, should submit full length paper within 10 days of the notification. Other accepted abstracts will be presented as poster. The poster preparation guidelines will be provided with the acceptance notification. Abstracts should be written in English. Abstracts can be rejected due to lack of scientific merit and a poor standard of English. Best Oral Presentation will be Awarded. Graduate students (Candidates for master’s and doctoral degrees) are encouraged to submit their works to the Young Scientist Award.

Abstracts submissions should be made online at https://abc2024.org, where authors must register and are guided further to submit their contribution. Nonetheless, as an important key date, the final ABSTRACT Submission deadline will be on 30 June 2024 at 11:59:59 BAN (Bangladeshi Standard Time) UTC/GMT -6 hours.

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the technical committee members to ensure an adequate standard (e.g. suitability with regards to submitted category, length, and English language). The acceptance decision will be notified by July 31, 2024, to the corresponding author. Corresponding author of the submissions selected for oral presentation should submit the full length article within 10 days of the notification. The article will then be peer-reviewed again to comply with the standard of publications.

Two types of submissions will be received to present at the ABC 2024.

1. Abstract

    The presentation of the works at the conference is open to receive both oral and poster postulations. Although some submissions will be selected to present their works in oral form, all accepted works not selected for oral presentation should display a poster during the Congress. The posters must be on exhibition for the duration of the Congress, and there will be a time for authors to stand by their posters so that judges can evaluate them and participants can approach and discuss about the research.

    Authors selected for oral presentation also could display their posters if they wish. After acceptance, the final version of the full length article must be submitted NO LATER THAN 20 August, 2024.

    Abstracts of the poster presentation and full length articles of the oral presentations will be published in the  11th  ABC 2024 Proceedings. The proceeding is supposed to be published in a special issue in the Bangladesh Journal of Animal Science. Accepted abstracts/full length article will be published in the open access congress proceedings and/or Bangladesh Journal of Animal Science providing at least one author completes registration (including payment). The proceedings will be published in English. There will be no article processing charge (the congress will take care of it) for publishing in the special issue and each of the abstract and/or full length articles will have independent doi number.

    2. Conference Articles (Invited/Keynote Papers)

    For Conference Articles, scientists, academicians, and well-recognized experts will be invited to participate as speakers at the main conference of the 11th ABC 2024 to present either proposed or assigned topics according to their expertise. In addition, there will be one keynote papers corresponding to the each of the selected areas listed above. All invited/keynote lecturers must submit a manuscript according to the subject/area they will deliver in the Congress. Articles should be written in English. The manuscript should include a Title page with a summary and keywords. The main text could be developed as free will by the author according to the aspects he/she will discuss in the lecture/presentation. A Conclusion and Future Perspectives are appreciated, accompanied by the Acknowledgements (if any) and a Reference Section. Invited/keynote papers will be published in the 11th ABC 2024 proceedings. The proceeding is supposed to be published in a special issue in the Bangladesh Journal of Animal Science. Invited/keynote articles will be published in the open access congress proceedings providing at least one author completes registration (including payment). The proceedings will be published in English. There will be no article processing charge (the congress will take care of it) for publishing in the special issue and each of the invited/keynote articles will have independent doi number.

     ANNEX 1 – ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDE

    1. Abstracts must be in English and prepared rigorously according to the following instructions for submission.
    2. Font, font size, line spacing, margin: Times New Roman, 13, 1.5 and 1 inch all sides, respectively.
    3. Word Count: Maximum 300 words (excluding the title, authors name and affiliation, and keywords)
    4. Abstracts submissions will be made online at the following link: https://app.abc2024.org
    5. ABSTRACT Submission deadline is 30 June 2024 till 11:59:59 BAN (Bangladeshi Standard Time) UTC/GMT -6 hours.
    6. Title: 15 words maximum. Centered Capitalize only the first word, leaving all others lowercase unless they are proper nouns. Do NOT bold or italicize the entire title.
    7. Authors: The full first, middle and last names of each author need to be written. Initials are optional and permitted only for middle name(s). Examples: Mohammad Ruhul Amin can be written as Mohammad R Amin.
      The corresponding author should be marked by * superscript at the end of the last name. To match the authors with their affiliation, please use the Arabic numerals (e.g. 1, 2, 3, ……) as superscript at the end of the last name. When authors belong to multiple institutions, insert numbers in order of appearance by a comma.
    8. Affiliations: List affiliations of all the authors in this order: Department, Institute/Company, City with postal code, Country and email address. To match with the authors, use the corresponding Arabic numerals at the beginning of the Department name.
      Examples: Department of Dairy Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh-2202, Bangladesh; [email protected].
    9. Content: The content must include objectives, materials and methods, results, and conclusions. No need to use sub- headings (e.g., introduction, methods, conclusion) in the abstract. Tables and figures will not be accepted. Except for established abbreviations (e.g., FSH, LH, hCG, IVF, IVP), abbreviations must be fully defined only the first time they appear in the abstract text; then, they can be used if necessary. Commercial products and other materials should be identified in the text by manufacturer name, city, and country. Any dosages and routes of administration should be specified. The statistical methods used in the analysis must be indicated. References should be avoided in the abstract.
    10. Key Words: Please enter up to six keywords for the contribution in lower cases, separated by commas. For example, Buffalo, milk, cheese, cost, quality, consumers choice
